The LRSN AGM, Reception and Charity Auction

On the 27th October 2014, we hosted our AGM, Reception and Charity Auction in the beautiful Coach House at Doddington Hall, courtesy of James and Claire Birch.

Over 100 guests joined us for the AGM, led by Chairman Meryl Ward, followed by a drinks reception where guests could meet many friends and colleagues from within Lincolnshire’s agricultural industry. Rev Dr Gordon Gatward OBE then addressed the audience delivering an entertaining but  thought provoking  talk about the issues of food production and agricultural both nationally and around the world. Gordon stressed the need for us all to engage with the younger generation to become involved and valued in agriculture and be the future of our industry to help provide a solution to predicted food shortages in the future due to the global increasing demand for food.

Following our speaker Auctioneer Ambrose Fowler then led our Charity Auction in full auctioneering mode entertaining us with his selling antics and enabling the auction to raise over £5000 which was fantastic, thank you Ambrose!

Many thanks to all our sponsors BDO, Doddington Hall and Gardens, Tom Wood and Springfield House Association for supporting us and to all the companies and individuals who donated the auction promises and raffle prizes and general donations. In total the AGM has raised £7000 of much needed funds to help us continue our services to those in Lincolnshire’s agricultural industry who need help.
