Rural Quiz raises £2500 for LRSN and LNAA!

Brigg based Brown & Co Property and Business Consultants, along with co-sponsors Peacock & Binnington machinery dealers and Woldmarsh Producers Ltd farmer buying group held another successful Rural Quiz on Wednesday 1st July at Elsham, strongly supported by farmers and those from the rural community. The event was held in aid of LRSN and the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and raised  a fantastic £2,500 so a huge thanks to Brown and Co, Peacock and Binnington and Woldmarsh Producers together with those who attended and dug deep!

Local food and drink producers were represented on the night with locally produced food and drinks from This Little Piggy, Tom Woods, Pipers Crisps and Cote Hill cheese. 

The evening was opened with a talk  from Howard Petch CBE, with his usual entertaining but thought provoking and informative views on agricultural production and its future before the quiz with questions on Farming, Food and Lincolnshire such as “what is puthering in Lincolnshire dialect?” (Rain!)

Congratulations to the winning team, “The Four Chocolatiers” led by Andrew Green, who took home the coveted Golden Share, and commiserations to Will James’ team who took home the Broken Piston!

The prize giving was followed by a generous raffle with prizes ranging from a hedge cutter to a quantity of oilseed rape seed to the value of £500 from local seed merchants GFP Agriculture Ltd. Uncle Henry’s, Pink Pig, Field Technique Agronomy, P&B and Woldmarsh also kindly donated prizes.

Brown & Co’s Judy Strawson said “it was excellent that so many turned out for a fun, sociable evening to support such great local charities”.
