Support our Ultra Challengers!

Have you got an Ultra Challenge inside you, wanting to be free? Our supporters Molly and Lizzie, staff member Sarah and volunteer Helen all have!

They've signed up to raise funds for LRSN by undertaking two Ultra Challenges this summer. Sarah and Helen are walking a marathon, the London Summer Walk, in June, and Molly and Lizzie have set themselves the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge and will walk 106 km around the island in July.

Could you join them and test your fitness? There are 14 Ultra Challenges set in stunning countryside, from the sea cliffs of the Isle of Wight to the Lake District and all points in between. It's your challenge at your pace, and you can select the distance - 25km, 50km, or 100km, in the knowledge that you'll be setting yourself a test and raising funds too! You can find out more about the series here; how you can join in, what it costs and you can even do a "virtual" version, raising funds and enjoying our wonderful countryside, safely!

The Ultra Challenge organisers have made the most monumental efforts to ensure that all the walkers, joggers, and runners are as safe as can be as they complete their challenges. With socially distanced facilities, staggered starts, and safe routes, all participants can be assured they're undertaking their fundraising in the safest possible way!

But why are these intrepid ladies putting their bodies through these grueling tests? Find out why by watching Lizzie's video diary as she trains in the beautiful (if a little damp) Lincolnshire countryside, in this vlog:

You can support Lizzie by donating via her JustGiving site  and donate to Molly through her Facebook page

Or why not do what friends Helen and Sarah have signed up to? Walk the London Summer Walk and see the sights of old London Town?

Their challenge was postponed from March (because of Covid-19) when it was the London Winter Walk, and will start and finish at Lord's Cricket Ground on Saturday 5 June. We'll be updating you on Sarah and Helen's training progress regularly through LRSN's Facebook page, so keep in touch to find out how to support their marathon fundraising efforts!

And remember, if you know someone who is struggling to cope for whatever reason, LRSN is here for them. Ask them to ring our helpline, 0800 138 1710; it's free, confidential and open from 8am to 8pm every day of the year.
