Lincolnshire Rural Charities Dinner 2019
Third fundraising dinner supports Lincolnshire charities
LRSN is one of three Lincolnshire charities that will benefit from proceeds raised at the third Lincolnshire Rural Charities Dinner, on Thursday 11 April 2019 at the Epic Centre, Lincolnshire Showground. Following two very successful events in 2014 and 2016, this prestigious event will raise funds for the Jon Egging Trust, the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society and LRSN.
The evening will celebrate the three charities’ work to support communities throughout Lincolnshire and beyond. With a theme of “Past, Present and Future”, guests will be guaranteed a sumptuous meal of Lincolnshire produce designed and introduced by Steven Bennett, “The Lincolnshire Chef”, of Healing Manor fame.
But the food is only part of the evening’s entertainment. Hosted by our favourite MC, Sean Sparling, there’ll be fun and frivolity as well as the opportunity to find out more about the three charities’ essential work. The dinner will build on the success of our previous events, which raised tens of thousands of pounds for charitable causes in the county.
One of the charities to benefit from the evening’s fundraising is the Jon Egging Trust (JET), which was set up in memory of Red Arrows pilot Flt Lt Jon Egging (Red 4) who was tragically killed in 2011 while completing a display at the Bournemouth Air festival. The Trust is the chosen charity of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society for the coming year. It works with young people to help them overcome adversity and be the best they can be: so far more than 1,500 young people from Lincolnshire across six schools were helped last year and more than 17,000 nationwide, since 2012.
2019 is a landmark year for the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society as it celebrates 150 years. The Society’s aims to educate people about food, farming and sustainability, are achieved through its work with the farming community and children and young people from all walks of life. From Countryside Lincs and the Schools’ Challenge to the Lincolnshire Farming Conference, the Society’s work inspires and educates, developing knowledge and understanding of food, farming and the countryside.
LRSN is the third charity benefiting from the evening’s activities. The team of skilled and competent volunteers and staff are drawn from the farming and rural community, supporting more than 140 families a year. The charity’s helpline, healthcare and casework services help to plug the gap left by local services and the increasingly stretched resources of the public sector. The money raised will help LRSN to continue to help those in Lincolnshire’s farming community experiencing problems with their mental and physical well-being.
Tables are now all sold. The event is being supported by the following companies:
Champagne Reception Sponsor: Limagrain
Chef Sponsor: L J Fairburn and Sons
Join us on 11 April 2019 for what promises to be a splendid evening, raising much-needed funds for three important Lincolnshire causes.
