LRSN Highlights at the Lincolnshire Show

LRSN volunteers and staff enjoyed two great days at this year's Lincolnshire Show.

As guests of the NFU at the show, we were very pleased to be able to help build the stand on the pre-show day. Dressed with bunting, banners and wonderful British flowers supplied by Sue Lamb of Lambs Flowers, Pinchbeck, and planters supplied by Riseholme College, the marquee looked wonderful.

The second day began with our now annual breakfast reception, kindly hosted by Brown & Co where we welcomed more than 50 friends who joined us to celebrate a successful year. Our guest speaker was chairman of the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, Jane Hiles. Jane kindly stood in for Chief Inspector Phil Vickers, who was unable to be with us, owing to his responsibilities at the Wainfleet flood emergency.

One very special event was the presentation of the cheques to the three charities benefiting from this April's Lincolnshire Rural Charities Dinner. The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, the John Egging Trust and LRSN each received cheques for £17,037.63. These were presented by LRSN chairman Meryl Ward, who also chairs the dinner organising committee. Jane Hiles for LAS, Laura Carey for the John Egging Trust and the LRSN staff and volunteers received the giant cheques, kindly produced by Paul Banton of Ruddocks.

LRSN expresses its gratitude to all the companies and friends who supported the third Charity Dinner, in particular, the main sponsors Smailes Goldie Turner, LG Seeds, The Private Office, Brown & Co, Wilkin Chapman and Fairburns Eggs.

The Peacock and Binnington LRSN logo'd tractor was also at the show, proudly positioned at the heart of their stand. P and B are celebrating 125 years in business this year and LRSN remains incredibly grateful for their continued support. We're pictured, above with Michael Peacock, P and B's chairman.
